Dear families,
I am feeling very excited about the return to onsite learning for our students. It is like starting a new year again. As we open up the school we will still be under many restriction, so I ask for your support in understanding what we can and can't do, in accordance with the CECV School Operations Guide.
The prep students will start the return to school on Monday18 Oct, Tuesday 19 Oct and Wednesday 20 Oct. The preps will work at home on Thursday and Friday and we will welcome the Grade 1 and 2 students on Thursday 21 Oct and Friday 22 Oct.

- Online learning will commence at 9am to accommodate families who are dropping students at school and then returning home to access remote and flexible learning for their other students. Recess also needs to be consistent so will follow the normal schedule. (Eating time 10.45 -10.55 and recess 10.55 - 11.25am). The end of the online learning day will conclude at 12.45pm and the end of the day for all students at school will be at 3.15pm.
Online learning will continue for students on the days that they are not onsite. Onsite supervision will continue for children of authorised workers throughout the next three weeks. If you require onsite supervision on the days your child does not attend onsite please email Tanya Stefanec (tstefanec@stlouisaspendale.com). You will be required to supply your authorized worker permit for both parents to access supervision. Bookings for the week ahead must be received by 3pm the Friday before so we can adequately staff the school.
Drop off and pick up:
The school gates will open as per last term at 8.30am with classes starting at 8.45am and pick up is at 3.15pm. We will have all of our gates and car park open for drop off and pick up. We are asking that all parents (apart from Prep) drop their children at the gates or carpark and not enter the school grounds. Parents will not be able to enter the school buildings. Please pre arrange with your children a designated pick up area when you drop them off in the morning.
Sunsmart Season:
It is that time of year again where we require students to wear their school hats. Hopefully we will see some warmer days soon and we need to be sun smart with hats and sunscreen.
Masks:
For all school settings, the Victorian Chief Health Officer has directed that students in Year 3 to Year 6 to wear face masks when indoors on school premises, unless an exception applies and recommends that all other children wear face masks when at school. We understand that there will be some concern around your children being required to wear a mask, this is understandable, talking to your children and showing them how to correctly wear a mask will allow them some practice before they return to school.
Class placement for 2022
Parents are invited to send an email to me, cstutterd@stlouisaspendale.com if you have a request for the placement of your child for 2022. Please do not request a teacher as this will not be accommodated. Your request will be considered but it may not be able to put into action and I will make contact with you if this was to be the case.
Friday 29 Oct is the closing date for all requests.
Enjoy your weekend and hopefully it may be our last one in lockdown.
