Kathleen Donovan  - Teacher 

 

 

What is your role at Concord School?

I am a Lower Primary teacher.

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:

I am currently getting to know all of the staff and students on the Lower Primary campus. I am looking forward to LPJ coming back on site for a few days next week.

 

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

I love how supportive and friendly all of the staff have been towards me during my first week at Concord School.

 

Favourite Food: Chocolate 

Favourite Movie/TV Show: The Office 

Favourite music: Adele, Mumford and Sons

Things I dislike the most: I can’t stand rats and mice! 

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: 

I have a one year old ragdoll cat at home called Luna who can be very cheeky! 

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: Collingwood Football Club 

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why? 

Dylan Alcott- He is an incredible athlete who I find very inspiring.

John Krasinski- His character Jim is one of my favourite characters in the show “The Office” and I think he is a great actor. 

Anne Edmonds- She is a very funny comedian and I like going to her shows.

What is your role at Concord School?

I am going to be a Teacher in the Year 9/10 area.

I am starting at Concord School in Week 3.

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

I’m really looking forward to getting started.

 

 

Favourite Food: Pepperoni pizza with Tiramisu for desert. 

Favourite Movie/TV Show: The Blues Brothers is my favourite movie. 

Favourite music: Nirvana, Bob Marley, Paul Kelly but anything really. 

Things I dislike the most: I’m pretty happy, nothing really bothers me too much.

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: 

I am not really great at any one thing but I am ‘ok’ at most things I need to be.     

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: I go for the Tigers in the AFL. 

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?

Comedian Jimeoin, recently retired footy player Eddie Betts and TV host and journalist Stan Grant.  I think there would be some good-natured laughs and some very interesting conversation.

What is your role at Concord School?

I am the new teacher in UPA! I am replacing Mara while she looks after her new baby (due very soon!)

 

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School: 

When I’m on-site I have been setting up our classroom (when I get the chance.) I’ve been bringing in all of my cuddliest toys and       some plants! I would like my classroom to feel cosy for when the  students return. I then spend the day with a mix of Upper Primary Students working on our learning tasks and having fun.

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

I am enjoying seeing the school grounds, particularly the Discovery Centre. I also love how well-mannered the students are!

 

Favourite Food: Nachos

Favourite Movie/TV Show: Frozen

Favourite music: Taylor Swift

Things I hate the most: Moths

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: I used to be a singer! 

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: I don’t watch sport! The students at Concord can teach me all about their favourite sports.

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?

Taylor Swift: she is my favourite artist. I have been to all of her shows!

Jennifer Lawrence: I think she is very funny, and I think she’d make the dinner extra fun!

Jamie Oliver: I’d love to hear all of his cooking tips and tricks!

Classroom Teacher in LPH

 

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:

My day starts at 8:15 at school and I get things ready for the day and set up exciting activities. We do lots of learning during the day and discover new things together.

 

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

Starting my day with wonderful students and teachers. Having friendly and happy people around me at work. I learn new things each day.

 

Favourite Food: Hamburgers 

Favourite Movie/TV Show: Singing in the rain / The Block

Favourite music: I can’t pick one. There are too many songs on my list.

My group of friends that I have known since high school. We haven’t seen each other since lockdown started. They always make me laugh and we have a good chat.

Home@Scope is part of the Scope family. Scope has been providing services to people with a disability and their families for over 70 years. We offer a variety of service including Day and Lifestyle options, Therapy and Supported Accommodation.

 

At Home@Scope Short Term Accommodation and Assistance we:

  • Offer a fun experience away from home for people with a wide range of disabilities and health needs.
  • Provide the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and help NDIS participants achieve their goals.
  • Give family and carers a chance to take a break from their daily routine.

 

We offer services for children and adults. Our highly experienced and trained employees work with customers to help meet their individual needs and achieve their goals.

Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club is again offering an All Abilities cricket program- Woolworths Junior & Master Blast- specifically for children with disabilities. Children from about age 5-14 learn basic cricket skills of catching, throwing, batting, bowling and teamwork.  The emphasis is on fun and having-a-go.  The All Abilities Blast program begins in November, Sundays 10-11am at Research Park, Main Road, Research and runs through Feb, with a break for the holidays.

 

Fee is $99 for the season. Great cricket gifts included with registration.

Select Research Eltham Collegians Cricket Club. Select either Junior Blast (1st timer or 2nd yr) or Master Blast program (3rd yr). Both programs run together on Sundays 10am at Research Park.

Unified is an iconic program that promotes and creates social inclusion between individuals with and without intellectual disabilities through sport.

Come and join the Unified Basketball program in Term 3 as an athlete or a playing partner. Our mixed team caters for beginners and our Men’s and Women’s teams are an A/B Grade standard (must be 15 years old to play).

Uniform Shop

New arrangements have been made to the running of the uniform shop in light of the current restrictions in place at Concord School. The shop will continue to operate throughout the term however we will only be taking orders via phone or form.

 

Please see the uniform order forms below, which can be sent into the office with your child or via school emails concord.sch@education.vic.gov.au

 

Alternatively, please feel free to contact the Bundoora Campus Office to place the order over the phone  on 9467 3972. All orders will be sent home with your child. If there are any issues with the order such as sizing we will be happy to provide an exchange.

The last week at OSHC comprised very low attendances due to continued lockdowns. The children that did attend however- enjoyed the last week at OSHC and undertook activities such as table soccer, Hot Wheels, and played active games such as tiggy, tennis, and soccer.
