Victorian Scholarship Opportunities

VTAC Scholarships applications are now closed but Year 12s can still apply to VIC scholarships offered by other organisations. 

Either by applying direct to the institution and you can find a list here. Or Department of Education and Training manage a number of scholarship opportunities for Year 12s undertaking tertiary study in 2022 - these can be found on their Student Scholarships website with scholarships specific to Year 12s listed here. Students are encouraged to research these scholarship opportunities to check eligibility, and be informed of the application process and deadlines.

New RMIT Virtual Tours

Join RMIT student guides as they take you on a virtual tour of RMIT’s campuses and facilities. Get a taste of what life is like as a uni student at RMIT, including the best spots to eat, study and hang out. Monash University Information for parents

Destination Monash for Parents is an online resource that was established in 2020 as a way of bringing parents all the information they need to support their child through this important time and in having confidence in their future study options. As part of this information for parents resource, Monash created this guide to give parents a good idea of what their child is going through, from choosing the right course to adjusting to university life.

Federation University Study Skills Presentation 2021 

Federation University have put together a Study Skills presentation which they hope will provide support to VCE students as they study for exams. It has been voiced over by one of their 3rd year students and provides a lot of hints and tips for studying including overcoming procrastination, time management and selfcare. Watch here.

A Summary of the Australian Jobs 2021 Report

Australian Jobs 2021 was released at the end of September, and Study Work Grow has gone over it in detail to provide this summary of the report. They highlight it’s not the first report of its kind, but the pandemic has changed just about every aspect of the labour market, and made any report written pre-2020 obsolete, so it’s great to have some new, updated data. The report gives a great overview of the state of the labour market in Australia right now, and provides some key insights into where we might head (pending any other major global developments).

Jobs Victoria Career Counsellors Service – New Program Offering Free Services for Adult Jobseekers

The Career Education Association of Victoria (CEAV) is delivering a new adult careers counselling service on behalf of the Victorian government. In response to the employment challenges facing Victorians during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jobs Victoria Career Counsellors Service has been put in place to assist people beyond high school who are:

  • unsure of their work/career options and pathways
  • seeking employment but lack a clear vocational pathway/plan
  • unemployed and struggling to secure work due to lack of work experience (e.g. recent graduates)
  • underemployed and seeking more secure and/or skilled work
  • in need of support to plan a transition to a new occupation/career
  • wishing to pursue a professional career involving tertiary education pathways
