World Teachers’ Day 2021

Congratulations to all our wonderful staff, teaching and non teaching on the occasion of World Teacher’s day 2021.

All came back to their desks this morning to find a nice packaged morning tea waiting for them in recognition of the great work they do.

New College Captains for 2021/22.

I would like to announce the appointment of Josie Carroll and Gus Goodyer as girl and boy Captain of Kildare.

They emerged as a result of a discernment process by senior leadership that involved nomination, interview, speech to the whole school via Zoom and a student vote. This was followed by significant discernment to ensure we have the best appointments.

What was very clear was that the other nine nominees were very close runners up in this process. They are very impressive young people. I found it a very energising and hope filling process, that we have such young people, all eleven candidates, of such caliber. Our future looks bright with such people.

Year 12

Our Year 12 families should have received an email from me yesterday outlining a few important matters in preparation for HSC and end of year. We are very mindful of the journey Year 12 have had and we have them in our thoughts and prayers as they go through their final preparations for their HSC in a week’s time.

Communication

The Covid case experience taught us a few things. One is that there is a gap where some families have no email address lodged with us. We require all families to have some form of email address. Every family must have an email address so that you can receive Compass notifications, college correspondence etc.

If you don’t already have an email address can I suggest one of these potential paths:

If you have internet on at home it is extremely likely that you are provided with an email address. or,
Create a new email address with e.g. gmail via https://accounts.google.com/SignUp or
Create an email address through an other free provider such as Outlook, Yahoo, Proton mail, Zoho mail or
If you are an Apple user use your iCloud email address

Please send this email address to the college through kcc-info@ww.catholic.edu.au and this will be entered into our systems in order that you receive communications from us

Your son or daughter can assist you to get things set up- my usual go to for tech issues!

Appointments

We congratulate the following staff on their promotion to coordinator positions:

Mrs Catherine Banks- English Coordinator- ongoing position
Ms Nicole Goggin as Acting Assistant Mathematics Coordinator (Terms 1,2 2022)

We further congratulate Mr David Kennedy on his permanent appointment to the KIldare staff as a teacher of TAS.

Next Monday Ms Elise Campbell commences teaching in a permanent capacity at KCC as a teacher of PDHPE and Religious Education.

School Fees

I am very conscious of the impacts of Covid-19 in our community and I want to be very sure that we are supporting those who need it. We can assist if there is a need and this is worked out on a sliding scale. To begin the process of helping you can you please contact kcc-accounts@ww.catholic.edu.au and request assistance. Our team will respond most supportively. Our new Business manager Andrea Blair, Kathryn Robertson and I stand here to assist you if help is needed.

Small issues can grow to become bigger issues if we aren't brought into the conversation with you. Please let us know and we can help.
