Principal's News

Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Carers,

NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK

This week was National Child Protection Week. Click here if you would like to follow up on some discussion with your child/ren.

Child Safety is about working together to make sure are children are safe at school, home and in the community and the more information we share the better informed we are.

ART SHOW 2022

We are so excited to be able to welcome families and friends back onsite for our Bi-Annual Art Show on Tuesday 4th of October between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.  Mrs Kimball and all our students have been working hard all year and their beautiful work will be displayed round the school.  Entry is via a gold coin donation. We can't wait to share this exciting evening with you.

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST

What a wonderful breakfast our children had with their dads, uncles or special people in their life. The Fathers Day breakfast was an early rise for our children who shared croissants, pastries and fruit platters - many thanks to Vanessa and her band of merry women (and dads) who helped with the breakfast.

We thank all our dads, uncles and special people who help to mentor and guide our children to be the very best versions of themselves.

MACSSIS SURVEY

You would have received the link for the annual MACSSIS Survey last week and we thank all families that have completed the survey. The Years 4-6 students and all of the staff completed the survey this. The survey gives us feedback on what we are doing  well and what we can improve on and gives everyone a voice in our community about what we would like St Brigid’s to look and be like moving forward.  If you haven't completed the survey, it's not too late.  The survey is open until Friday 16 September.   Thank you for your support.

FOUNDATION SWIMMING

It was so nice to go to watch the Foundation swimming this week and they all did a wonderful job. Their excitement on the bus was lovely to see (not so much the scream as they drove past McDonalds!!)

They all tried so hard during their lessons and enjoyed the experience. They were so independent as well, getting changed and looking after their own property. Well done Foundation students, Miss Behrendt, Miss Dirckze, Moira, Sigi and Kate.

CLASSES FOR 2023

It is that time of year when we seek feedback from families in relation to your child’s needs for class placement in 2023. This information is one of the many ways which helps us to construct our classes for next year. These are not requests for teachers nor are they seen to be binding once sent. Your feedback combined with staff and student feedback will ensure a fully informed decision making process for 2023 class formation. If you wish to provide feedback, it must be sent via email and sent to me - principal@sbmord.catholic.edu.au by Friday 16 September marked private and confidential.

Please do not do email via your child’s classroom teacher, Tracey or office@. due to the confidential nature of the email.

STUDENTS NOT RETURNING IN 2023

As we are nearing the end of Term 3, I have to turn to planning for 2023.  If you are planning on not returning to St Brigid’s for next year (excluding Year 6 students)  can you please let me know in writing at:

principal@sbmord.catholic.edu.au

EARLY FINISH TO TERM 3

Just a reminder that students finish school this term on Wednesday 14th September at 3.15pm. The staff have 2 days of Professional Learning on Thursday and Friday where we will be creating our School Improvement Plan for the next 4 years using the recommendations from our school review, as well as planning for Term 4.

JUNIOR ROCKERS

Just a snippet of the wonderful performers we have here at St Brigids! Well done to Ollie, Finn, Tahlia and Toby for showing us their musical talents. Please click here to view the video.

Junior Rockers are an external provider who do music lessons at school during the day. If you would like your child to participate please contact Junior Rockers. See their flyer at the end of this newsletter.

TEAM KIDS

Team Kids will not be operating their holiday program these school holidays.  At this point we do not have the number of students required on a daily basis to make it viable. Sorry for the inconvenience.

DISCO

We are looking forward to our Foundation to Year 4 Disco being run tomorrow night.  The disco will be supervised by some of our teachers and volunteer helpers.  Parents are most welcome to stay.  Drop off is at 5:30pm and pick up is 7:00pm.  The children must be signed in and out.  Thank you to our Parent helpers for running this event.

Yours in partnership
