Melbourne Victory Program

The Melbourne Victory Program was introduced this year, with Dandenong High School being one of the first Secondary Schools in Victoria to engage in this program. The program involved 22 selected year 8 and 9 students participating weekly in skill development sessions with their coach, while also engaging in workshops to develop strong teamwork skills and build their leadership capacity. Students were immersed in a variety of opportunities such as a training session at AAMI park with the Manchester United Football team and coaches, as well as more recently completing some coaching credentials and coaching other students within their class. The program has been a great success, with students enjoying building relationships with students from other houses and improving not only their skills in soccer, but the theory, strategies and problem solving needed in order to be part of an effective team environment and achieve success. We are very excited with the prospect of building this program in future years.
