Principal's Report
Christine Pillot - Acting Principal
We would like to invite you to the celebration of the hard work and achievements of everyone at MPS in term 3. On Friday 16th September we will have a community breakfast from 8:00 to 8:40am in the sensory garden area. We would really like to have as many families join in as possible. This is also an opportunity to say goodbye to the staff who will be finishing at MPS next Friday. School will provide sausages in bread, yoghurt, fruit and juice. We ask that families bring along a bowl, spoon and cup. We look forward to seeing you here!
Student Led Learning Conferences are on today, 2:00-7:00pm. Students are looking forward to present their learning portfolio and talk about their learning goals and growth with you. Specialist teachers are available from 3:30-4:45pm in the specialist room to have a conversation with students and parents about the learning in these programs.
Adam Jarvis (1/2A classroom teacher) will be leaving us at the end of term. Adam will be moving to Canada with his partner. Hua Maley will be the new teacher replacing Adam in term 4.
As planned, Lisa Rosthorn (1/2B classroom teacher) will also be finishing at the end of term 3. Amelie Fraser will be the new classroom teacher in 1/2B in term 4.
As also planned, our Tutor and Science teacher, Lisa Grdic will be finishing at MPS at the end of term 3.
Gerry Ladiges, who has been working as an Education Support staff member this term covering Tracy Mullenger, finishes next week. We will still see Gerry around the school working in the OHSC program and as a casual Education Support staff member.
We thank Adam, Lisa R, Lisa G and Gerry for their work and commitment they have given MPS and the students in their classes. We wish them all the very best in their next adventures.
Science remains an important subject area at MPS. In term 4, science will be taught by classroom teachers. The program will remain the same with every class having their science lesson in the science specialist room.
There has been large amounts of dog faeces left along the Hardy Crescent footpath. This is obviously a high traffic area as students walk in and out of the school. We ask that everyone who is out walking their dog to pick up after them, and also remind other community members of this if you see them doing the wrong thing. Thank you.
Some of our 5/6 students will continue running lunchtime clubs next term. There are a few changes of activities and the timetable. It is a good idea to have a look at the timetable with your child/ren over the term 3 break, to discuss what they might like be involved in.
