Religious Education

Eamonn Farrelly - Religious Education Coordinator

On 24 August we went on the year 10 Reflection Day, it was outside of school at the Don Bosco Retreat Centre in Lysterfield. It was a great chance for us to get out of school and be with our year level for a day. The focus of the retreat was Service, Opportunity and Sacrifice. We looked at ways to go beyond ourselves to help others and sacrificing our time for people who are in need. Throughout the day we did a few games which was a great way to have fun with our whole year level and not worry about school. We had some group activities where we talked about leadership and different types of ways we can show service. One of the highlights was when we went around the room and there were posters hanging up with organisations that help the community, it was a great way to see organisations and possibly volunteer and help the community. This was beneficial for us Year 10s because it's a great way to start thinking about taking small actions for people in need.
