2020 Term 1 Round 4

Primary School Cricket Competition

On Saturday 14th March it was the Showdown match – LNPS White V LNPS Blue.  Unfortunately, I was unwell, so handed over the managing of the Blue team to Kathryn Eaton.  Thank you to Michael Crawford and Kathryn, as well as all the other parents, for chipping in and helping with umpiring, scoring and helping the kids out on the day.

The results are as follows:

White 7/69 and Blue 6/110.

From the scoresheet, here are some of the highlights.

Blue team – Noah (From Brompton PS) took two wickets, had a maiden and a wicket maiden.

Molly also took two wickets and Brendon took three.

Brendon made his highest run tally of 16.  Molly also beat her previous run tallys and made 5.

White team – Hayley and Murray took one wicket each, Hayley’s was a wicket maiden.

Jasper and Cooper both took two wickets each.  Cooper also made 10 runs and Jasper made 9.

As I don’t have the White team’s scorebook, I can’t comment on any improvements over previous games.

Knockout Cricket

The LNPS Knockout Cricket Team played a great game at Grange Primary School on Friday 13/3. The boys played well against Nazareth College with Kobe  top scoring at 19 runs. Kobe, Noah  and Jack all scored boundaries as part of a great knock.

Our fielding and bowling was of a high quality with wicket takers Noah, Brady, Brendon, Angus and Hamish. Jack also stumped a batter who was playing forward. We did not end up winners on the day, but the team, which was ably  co-captained by Jack and Jack , showed excellent sportsmanship on the day and represented the school extremely well. I was proud of the whole team.

Soccer 2020

Thank you to the families who have registered to play soccer this year.

These are the teams so far:

1 x under 6 team (1 more registration we can have 2 teams)

1 x under 7 team (4 more registrations to put in two teams)

1 x under 8 team ( 4 more registrations to put in two teams)

We need 2 more registrations for an under 9 team.

At this stage under 10 and 11 may have to combine and we need 5 more under 10's.

We also need coaches for Under 7 and Under 10,
