Freeman House News
To Freeman House,
We have reached the end of the term and there has been lots to celebrate. We have had some wonderful student achievements with the Pasfika Choir, 4 C’s, Write a Book and the General Achievement Test (GAT) in a day all occurring in the last month. This week have also made some additions to our Freeman Building to improve the learning spaces for students. We have had a delivery of furniture that will enable students who have classes in the Freeman Building to work in a collaborative setting in smaller groups.
For the end of term, the Learning Habits reports will be released and we hope that our students take the time to identify where they are achieving success and where there are opportunities for improvement. Similarly, Naplan results have been released and the College is very proud of the growth that many students have demonstrated. Across the board students have improved in key areas and has occurred as a result of our very dedicated teachers and our students striving to achieve their best.

We also take this opportunity to introduce Ms Tregidga (Ms T) as a member of the Freeman Team. Ms T started at Hampton Park Secondary College at the start of the term and has taken on the position of VET/VCE-VM Leader. Ms T teaches English and VCAL this year and teaches VET every Wednesday afternoon at Hallam Secondary College. Students can visit Ms T in the Freeman House Leadership Office.
Freeman Student of the Month:
Ivy Nguyen
Ivy is a year 7 student in our school and recently participated in Write a Book in a Day Challenge where a group of students worked as a team to plan, edit, write and illustrate their book ‘Sprout’ in one day. This was a wonderful event for students to participate in, especially as it has been created to give to kids in hospital with cancer so that they have something to read. Ivy would like to thank Mrs Dixit for providing the opportunity for members of writing enrichment to take part as well and she hopes that children in hospitals across Australia enjoy reading our book.
