Hollows House News

Dear Hollows students and families,

As Term 3 comes to a close today, we once again find ourselves reflecting positively on our outstanding achievements as a house. We continue to meet high expectations, both in the classroom through our academic studies and through our commitment to the wide range of extra-curricular activities that we are involved in.

We started this term with the following messages:

Our theme as a college this term is to ‘be your best’. When we are all working towards being our best, our college will be the best it can be, and we will together achieve remarkable things. When we are the best versions of ourselves, we inspire others to be better and we raise the expectations of ourselves and of others. ‘Students at HPSC can do remarkable things’ and they honestly can. We believe in you and we will continue to support you, but we need to do this together. As a college we can be the school of choice in the future and you, as our future generation, will achieve the best results that you can. We ask that each of you think about, every day, are you being the best version of yourself, and if so fantastic. If not, what small changes could you make to be the best version of yourself so that you can achieve the success we know you are capable of.

We have certainly shown that we can model these mentioned expectations throughout this term in the following areas and events:

  • 4C’s showcase event at Bunjil Place. Congratulations to all students involved in this spectacular event, showcasing the variety of cultures that exist within our school and the pride that we have in where we are from and who we are.
  • Rugby tournaments and camp. We continue to achieve great things in this area and it so great to see our Hollows students active and engaged in a sport that they love, building strong relationships with their peers and supporting each other to improve their skills.
  • The GAT. Year 12 Hollows students have successfully completed the GAT for 2022. This is not an easy thing to do, and you all should be congratulated for giving your best efforts in this test, setting you up for further success in your upcoming exams next term.
  • Wear it Purple Day & R U OK? Day. It was so great to see the large majority of Hollows students celebrating these two events and embracing the diversity that exists within our school, as well as looking out for one another and actively engaging in the wellbeing activities that were present on the day.
  • Student Led Conferences & Course counselling sessions. Our ability to reflect and consider our pathways through these conversations on these two days, along with involving our parents, was simply fantastic to see.

Congratulations to all of our students who have received Values nominations this Term. As a House we have received:

Congratulations to Hollows student Carlos Macasarte of 12E, who has received First Place in the World Skills Competition at Chrisholm TAFE.
