What is so special about this class? Let’s find out!

For this week’s class we have 1/2 W, one of the joyful classes that are part of the school's 1/2 cohort. As part of the class spotlight we interviewed two of the delightful kids, asking them some questions about what they do in reading, writing and mathematics and really what has been going on within their amazing class. They were happy to answer, and this was what they said:

We interviewed Adil and Oscar
What makes your class such a special place to learn in?

There are a lot of people in the class, this helps cause we can learn and work together. We like working in a group and making up ideas together. We learn about a lot of great things like seahorses and Minecraft.

What is your class doing at the moment in Reading?

We are learning to synthesise. That means reflecting on our prior knowledge and adding it to the new information from the text or video. We are also learning how to turn on our laptops and find new facts in a book using Google Classroom.

What is your class doing at the moment in Writing?

We are writing a response text about our trip to the zoo. We finished it a few days ago, although I still need to finish my last part. After that we will complete a new experience and write about that.

What is your class doing at the moment in Mathematics?

We are learning how to measure using rulers and stuff that we can find in the room. This includes counters and paper clips. We just finished learning about division. Division is all about sharing equally.

What is your favourite part about being a student at Albanvale Primary School?

My favourite part is when I get to go to ART and learn about new things, as well as PE because I get to exercise.

I love that you learn a lot of new things each day. I also like to go out and play with my friends. I would tell people to come here because I like everything that we do.

It is clear that the students in 1/2 W are doing some awesome work and this has allowed the class to learn some great things. We will be back next week to highlight the great work that another of Albanvale Primary School Classes work is doing.
