Year 9 Multi-Pitch Climbing Day
This term Year 9 Wild Ed students have been learning to rock climb. Each class spent time learning foundational skills at the sport centre using the schools indoor climbing gym. To conclude the unit, students were provided with a unique opportunity to attend a Multi-Pitch climbing day at Mt Piddington, where they demonstrated vertical mobility, knot craft, belaying and climbing skills.
Each climb had it’s own unique challenges and every student demonstrated strength, courage and determination. The students should be very proud with their achievements, especially their support of each other.
For those climbing parents who might be interested, the climbs were: Hocus Pocus, Angular Crack and Joseph. The students also had a chance to climb The Eternity.
