Congratulations and thank you to all the students who performed so beautifully at the Orpheus concert last Sunday. Working together with different student ensembles on a variety of music styles was an achievement. It was a huge success and everyone appreciated your contribution. We are hoping to prepare an item for the Hospital Fundraising Concert on 6th November, so keep practising!

AIM School Holiday Music Workshops

The Australian Institute of Music is presenting holiday workshops for high school students interested in developing their songwriting or performing abilities with world-class music educators:

Songwriting – Mon 26 Sep.  An essential workshop for any high school student (Year 9-12) curious about writing songs and performing. Students will work with professional songwriter, composer and producer Dominic Cabusi to workshop harmony, melody, style, lyricism, basic arrangement and production. Students will also collaborate on original music and perform it at the conclusion of the workshop.

Performance – Mon 26 Sep.  Experience playing music in this fun one-day workshop designed for budding performers. This workshop covers all the essential skills a modern musician must demonstrate, including: communicating in an ensemble, chart reading, rhythm, pitch, dynamic, improvisation, stylistic interpretation and performance. Students will work together to perform a set of songs at the end of the day, live!
