INSPIRING CURIOUS MINDS

PHYSICAL EDUCATION NEWS

It's good to be back!

I’d like to thank all the staff that continued to run the PE program in my absence. Earlier this term I took some much needed LSL and finally did some travelling. I experienced the beauty of the

Amalfi coast in Italy by boat and scooter. I was a student again and lost in the history lessons of Istanbul in Turkiye, as I learnt about the sunken city and the geographic significance of this part of the world. The weather was amazing and the food and sites were simply divine. As much as I miss the 30+ degrees, I am enjoying being back to my routine and being surrounded by the familiar faces back at SMPPS, doing what I love. Everytime I travel I grow a deeper appreciation for this part of the world, we call home.

AFL NEWS

September is the time for footy finals excitement at SMPPS. We have some wonderful clinics and events planned over the last two weeks of Term 3. AFL Victoria coaches will be running clinics during PE lessons over the next few weeks. Footy Colours Day will be celebrated on Friday 16th September the last day of Term 3. Students can come to school dressed up in their footy colours and participate in some Aussie rules fun games to end the term.

BASKETBALL NEWS

Our year 3 and 4 students will all participate in the Hooptime Competition against other schools in our district at MSAC on Monday 12th September. The students have been preparing for this competition in PE lessons and also had a visit from Basketball Victoria’s coaches who were very impressed by the level of skill and teamwork shown by our students.

SWIMMING NEWS

Our Preps are leading the way by starting their first swimming lessons at SMPPS this term. They will have their lessons at MSAC in week 10 of Term 3. The rest of the school will have their swimming lessons in week 1 of Term 4.
