Parent's Association

It was wonderful to meet with the parents of the 2021 Foundation students on Tuesday and share the information about the Parent’s Association with them. Here is the PA Information Kit we shared. 

 

We are recruiting parents to join the volunteer teams. Let’s hear from Monique, a dedicated volunteer parent, who shares about her experience of being a PA volunteer.

 

"I like to actively participate in school activities, it helps me:

  • support the community
  • get to know the teachers and the kids better, 
  • show appreciation to the teachers for their hard work, 
  • to see what the kids experience at school.

By just being there, the kids also see you involved in the community and the value of this interaction. I highly encourage you to take part in the events, volunteer teams or even the committee of the Parent’s Association - it's an excellent opportunity to make some friends while you make a difference.”  — Monique Venus

  • Second Hand Uniform Shop -  To support environmental friendly community. We need helpers to sort out the uniforms, assist parents with finding sizes and recording transactions. The secondhand uniform shop opens on the first Thursday of each month from 9-10am.  Sign up here - volunteersignup.org/WC3F9.
  • Helping Hand Program - To support families/parents who need an extra hand during their challenging times (e.g. sick or family issues). We can help them cook meals, drive the kids or do some grocery shopping for a period of time taking turns on a schedule. Whatever they need, however we can help. The Helping Hands Coordinator is the main contact with our Assistant Principal Rebecca Stonehouse-Melke who works together with us and the family in need.  Sign up here - volunteersignup.org/B7K3F
  • PA Volunteer Workforce - To build a stronger school community by organising events/programs to gather parents, students and teachers together throughout the year. We need a group of volunteers to assist and coordinate in different programs/events  e.g. planning events, scheduling roster, packing gifts, guiding students, arranging food/drinks, etc.  Sign up here - volunteersignup.org/BHDBA
