Year 6 Roald Dahl Dramatisation

Congratulations the talented and passionate group of Year 6 students including Lucy, Tabitha, Amari, Scarlet, Ava, Holly, Grace, Zara, Lucy, Darcy, Carys, Liz, Tessa, Maddie, Mia, Miranda and Jess who were determined to work together in whatever ways the many restrictions of 2020 allowed, to celebrate their graduating year at Warrandyte Primary School with an entertaining and heart-warming outdoor performance.

Based on the writings of Roald Dahl, this play started as a single, socially distanced, dance routine. Then, one, by one, six scenes were created and a song, which was previously planned to be recorded at individual homes, was allowed to be performed live by ten cast members. The cast should be incredibly proud of the talent, professionalism and teamwork they demonstrated both on stage and behind the scenes.

Thank you to the many WPS families who were a supportive (socially-distanced!) audience, and to the past-students who volunteered their time helping with backstage and sound.

I am delighted to have had the opportunity to work with such a positive, creative, and supportive cast who have shared their love of Performing Arts since they first appeared on stage as baby crocodiles in “Peter Pan”. Best wishes to you all for what promises to be exciting futures as secondary school students!

Exciting news!

Warrandyte Primary is delighted and honoured to have been offered participation in dance for next year’s Victorian State Schools Spectacular! Spec 2021 will be a special made-for-TV event where students rehearse at school and then travel to a professional TV studio to film their dances. Every student is guaranteed to be seen on screen in the exciting video-clip style production! I’m very much looking forward to returning as Performing Arts teacher in Term 1 2021 when I will conduct auditions for the 16 student places.

And more exciting news!

Whoo Hoo we have secured a date for our school production for 2021, save Friday 27 August in your diaries.
