STEP Initiatives Workshop

STEP Initiatives Workshop – Minute to win it!

The first STEP Initiatives Workshop for the year was held on Wednesday 26th February.  Year 7-9 students were separated into mixed year level teams to work through mini challenges within a minute! These challenges included ‘Face the Cookie,’ ‘Mega Bubble’ and ‘Nut Stacker.’ Students were required to trust each other and use their skills to work collaboratively and efficiently.

With a few ice breakers to kick off the day, students pushed themselves to great lengths to make it to the final round. The nail biting music paired with the pressure applied by the Corporate Challenge facilitators made for a super fun and competitive day. Congratulations to the winning team: Lucas Bonanzinga (7E), Ishan Mudiyanselage (8E), Tony Truong (7E), Ava Campbell (7E), Rebecca Browne (8E), Zahlia Meroka (9E) and Hesanya Nambagodage who were awarded a medal for their exceptional effort and who proudly represented our school values of Respect, Initiative and Learning.

It was especially wonderful to see the resilience students developed throughout the workshop and particularly the display of leadership demonstrated by the Year 8 and Year 9 STEP students. We hope that the relationships the students formed today will continue to flourish throughout the year and onwards.
