Look out, Mr Spinks!
Remember earlier when we told you that Mr Spinks, our Science Coordinator, might be out of a job? You're about to see why!
This term, our science topic has been 'Chemical Changes'. The students have had a ball pretending to be crazy scientists, mixing ingredients together to see what happens. Our teachers planned 4 different experiments for us to conduct and we were amazed to see the chemical reactions that occurred. Each class rotated around to all 4 teachers to conduct the experiments and collected data like real scientists! Before we began, we made predictions about what we thought might happen when certain ingredients were mixed together. After beginning the experiment, we made note of what we could see in the beginning and what changes we could see happening. It was exciting waiting to see if our predictions were accurate!
Miss Kelly taught us how to make crystals and Mrs Whitehouse showed us how chocolate melts to liquid as it warms up. Miss Price helped us make rain clouds in a jar and Mr Spinks made toothpaste for elephants! Check out some of our photos from our rain cloud experiment:
