Rocking Robin, Merry Men, 2 Johns and a Dance Troupe - it must be Term 3!

Term 3 has started at a running pace, with production fever alive and well! Tickets are selling fast, with over 1,100 tickets sold already. There are only a few rows of tickets left for each night, so make sure you secure your tickets soon. Students are starting to get excited, dancing in the yard each recess and lunch as the songs from our musical blast out. I've been lucky enough to drop into some of the rehearsals and see our students in action - they have such beautiful singing voices, I am extremely jealous.

Also this term we welcome 6 temporary international students to the school. These students are in Australia with their parents for a variety of reasons and are attending school to enjoy our wonderful school environment and to enjoy the cultural experience of attending an Australian school. RNPS Students have already been doing an amazing job of helping our new students feel welcome, with some official ambassadors in Year 2 taking on the task with great responsibility. Allow me to officially welcome these students to our school and wish them all the best in their few weeks with us.

Parent Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 22nd July to Sunday 11th August.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September and are always reviewed at School Council to inform our planning for the future.

Fete planning

Planning is well and truly under way for the 2020 school fete, the 'Ringwood North Family Festival'. We have an excellent planning committee of committed parents working hard on this presently. I encourage other parents who are thinking about helping to respond to the communication from your Class Parent Representative to indicate your willingness to get involved. Everybody has different means and ways of providing assistance, but the easiest place to start will be to get in touch with the Class rep and let them know your keen to help. If you don't think you've received anything from the Class Rep but would like to be contacted, please share your contact details with your child's teacher.

RNPS Equestrian Team!

I wish to congratulate Asher Parsons on her efforts representing the school during the holidays: Asher and her pony Otis had a great time competing and representing Ringwood North Primary School at their first Interschool Competition held at Elmore Equestrian Centre. We are very excited to be expanding the reach of our great school into paddocks near and far!

Asher and Otis competed in dressage events and the Show Hunter Primary Led competition and were the overall winners of the Led competition. Congratulations Asher and Otis and well done for representing the school so well.

Autism Workshops for Parents

The following sessions were sent to me by Amaze (a great organisation supporting people living with Autism - http://www.amaze.org.au/) to share with parents whose children have Autism or who are waiting for a diagnosis.
