Library news....
How excited will be next term! With the new building due to be finished – Music will have it’s own designated room and library will once again become a full-time library with children having the opportunity to spend much more time in this space.
To celebrate we have many special things planned:
- Students will be studying the Children’s Book Council Award (CBCA) Shortlisted Books for 2019
- Book Week celebrations will include a dress-up day with the theme of ‘Super Heroes’ &
- Our annual Book Fair will arrive in time for Literacy & Numeracy week
Just to mention a few!!
Book Borrowing:
Special mention and congratulations goes to all the students in 1/2N! Last week EVERY student in their grade remembered their library bag and borrowed a book to take home and share with their family. Well Done!! Let’s see if many more of our grades can do this next term – it will be a bit trickier as library day will change for many of our students with the changes to the timetable to allow for the reinstatement of formal library sessions – these changes will be advised in due course via the grade level newsletters early next term.
Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge
It is wonderful to see so many of our student entering their reading into the Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge website. The Challenge finishes towards the end of Term 3 and we are two-thirds of the way through the Challenge time period. All students have their login and password details either in their reading diaries or school diaries for reference. Should there be any queries about the Challenge, please do not hesitate to ask…
