I can’t wait to see you all & celebrate student learning…

Friday 15 November OPEN EVENT, all welcome!

This Friday, 15 November we are holding three significant events concurrently at school and we’d love to see as many visitors as possible come along and enjoy what’s on offer – as below:

  1. Learning Celebrations – from 2:30-3:20pm we welcome parents, family members and friends into all classrooms for students to share their academic achievements;
  2. 2:30-4:30pm our Café 1739 is having its GRAND OPENING – please drop in and enjoy our hospitality, drinks and foods (in the Learning Pod / Shelter Shed); and
  3. 2:30-4:00pm we have a Book Fair in our Blue Hall for students to enjoy with their parents and friends – come along and purchase a book with proceeds going back to the school.

Please note, there won’t be an assembly held on this day.

4yr Old Kindergarten Information Evening

Tomorrow evening from 6-7pm there is a Kindergarten Information Evening for families at the Kindergarten.

Key information, dates and documentation will be shared in readiness for 2020.

Springfest

This year Miners Rest Primary School & Kindergarten are beneficiaries of the Springfest celebrations, ran by Rotary.

To receive the min. $2500.00 we are still seeking a further 10 volunteers to complete some easy tasks on the actual day – Sunday 24 November at Lake Wendouree.

Please help us support Springfest to gain the funds that we wish to put back into our children’s education.

Contact the school on 5334 6328 for further information, and to offer 3hrs of volunteer support, which will truly make a difference!

Please help share that true community feel we excel in at Miners Rest.

Miss Russell

Next Tuesday we will say goodbye to Miss Russell as she begins a period of long service leave prior to her wedding on Saturday, November 23rd. Miss Russell will be away on her honeymoon for the remainder of the 2019 school year, and will return to us next year as Mrs Gear. In the meantime, we will welcome Rick Donat to Room 9. Rick has already spent several days building relationships in the room as a casual relief teacher.

We wish Miss Russell all the best for her period of leave!
