Commedia dell'ArtePerformance

On Monday 13 May all Year 8 students had the opportunity to watch a Commedia dell’Arte play, ‘Fooling in Love’, performed by actors from ‘Make a Scene’. They were fantastic, and made sure the audience was involved and enjoying themselves. Their costumes and masks showed each of the stock character’s distinct style and personality.

We found inspiration from this show and are excited to put some of these ideas into our own performance work for our drama unit of Commedia dell’Arte.

Year 9 Drama

In Year 9 Drama this term, students prepare, rehearse and present a scripted play.  As well as taking on an acting role, students work on selected areas of stagecraft that include direction, costume design, sound, lighting and set design.

Last week, Kilbreda Audio Visual Technician, Mr Mathew Graham, ran a lighting workshop.  The girls learnt about the different types of lights and the amazing effects and moods that lighting can create in a performance.

Thank you to Mr Graham for providing a practical, informative and enjoyable journey into the world of lighting, further enhancing our students' learning in this area of Performing Arts.
