Young People and the Law

On Wednesday 8 May, the Year 9 Young People and the Law class were visited by Leading Senior Constable Chris Dawson from Victoria Police.

Chris spoke to the class about entry requirements for becoming a police officer, the rights and responsibilities of young people when dealing with police and protective services officers as well discussing the highest speed he has ever driven and the scariest experience he has had as an officer.

The class are currently preparing an assessment task outlining police powers and the rights and responsibilities of young people and the visit from Chris proved to be a valuable experience to enhance their research in this area.
