Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning Report

Unit 3 and 4 Exams
Students studying Unit 3 and 4 subjects are coming to the end of their courses and will be starting to prepare for exams. Student progress can be viewed on SIMON and PAM at any time. End of year reports will be available for Year 12 students from 12 October. We are hoping that practice examinations can take place during the second week of the school holidays. Students and parents will be advised as soon as possible.
Students studying a Unit 3 and 4 subject were informed about the process for Consideration of Educational Disadvantage (CED) last week. Students need to return forms via email as soon as possible.
Student Progress Meetings
Student Progress Meetings will take place via Zoom on Tuesday 14 September. Information will be emailed soon.
Scholarship Interviews
It has been a privilege to assist Sam Cosentino with interviewing students applying for a scholarship. I have found it inspiring to listen to the interests and dreams of our high achievers. Who knew so many students were interested in crochet!
Keep Going!
We all know that it is hard to stay motivated with online learning. The following quote is worth reflecting upon: “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out” (Robert Collier). As we keep going with online learning, we take small steps towards the big steps of learning. I think that the recent Victorian NAPLAN results show that Victorian students have kept on going, one small step at a time to success.
