Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Games Night

Our fantastic College Captains are always trying to do whatever they can to build up and support our community. They are organising a free games night for students on Friday 3 September 2021, details below:

On Friday 3  September at 7:30 pm, we will be hosting our very own Nazareth Virtual Game Night! We might be limited in what we can do in lockdown, but the vast array of games online gives us ample opportunity to connect with one another, and take a break from the stresses of school from the comfort of our own homes. So, if you would like to join in the fun, please follow this link to ensure you receive the zoom link on the night. https://forms.gle/4oipPiHwBEng65x99 Until then, take care :) from the School Captains.

Any questions, please contact the School  Captains via the above link/google form.

Nazareth Day

At this stage we are planning to celebrate Nazareth Day in week one of Term 4, 2021 on Thursday 7 October 2021. We are hoping this will be  like our traditional Nazareth Days with a break from normal classes, a Talent Quest, School Assembly and activities. Unfortunately, at the moment we are waiting to see what restrictions might be in place at this time and will adjust accordingly. We will keep you informed.

Planning

We are busy planning now for 2022 and have a developed draft calendar. Next week we are looking beyond 2022 and will be having Family Meetings with our 2023 Year 7 students.  It is always great to meet and share a little with these new future students and their families. Our student numbers are growing and we have well over 160 students enrolled in Year 7 for 2022 and looking very healthy at this stage for 2023 with over 130 students applying already. If you have friends or family looking to enrol, please ask them to contact our College Registrar, Ms Bernadette Bryant.

Sad News

The Nazareth Community was very sad to hear of the sudden passing of Mr Gerald Hughes, husband of our long serving staff member and Chisholm Head of House Mrs Deirdre Hughes. We invite you to join with us in praying for the repose of the soul of Gerald Hughes and also for Deirdre and her family at this difficult time. May God be close to them and give them all they need now and forever.

For the remainder of the term if there are any matters that would normally go to the Chisholm Head of House, please contact me.

Gratitude

We continue to be filled with gratitude to the staff, students and parents/guardians all working so hard during this online learning time to try and continue the growth and development of all our students. Thank you especially parents/guardians for all your support. We hope there is some time also for you to look after yourselves and have some kind of break at this time.
