Whole School Expectation- Weekly Focus for Students

Be responsible: Complete your learning tasks to the best of your ability.

Are you monitoring your child’s reading at home?

Reading is key to all learning. We hope your children have enjoyed Book Week and that it has provided a focus on the importance of books and reading for you and your child/ren. 

I encourage you to monitor your child’s reading every day to ensure that their reading does not fall behind during remote learning. 

IMPORTANT ACTION- Record of Attendance During Remote Learning

Attendance at school is a legal obligation for parents and recording attendance is a legal obligation for the school. 

While students are in remote learning, you are responsible for ensuring your child has signed in each day before 12:00 pm using:

• this link or
• the link on the SJB Remote Learning Website or
• the link on the Weekly Learning Schedule.

Once your child’s attendance is logged using one of the above links, the school will then record your child’s attendance on the legal Roll.

If you do not ensure your child has signed in they will be marked on the Roll as "Absent".

If your child cannot engage in remote learning for the day due to illness or for another reason, please contact the school office via email at info@sjbdow.catholic.edu.au or phone 42831111.

At the moment, the school office staff is spending too much time chasing up attendance so please do your part in meeting your obligations as a parent.

Week 8 Remote Learning Information

Week 8 Home Learning Schedules areavailable from 5:00 pm Sunday on Seesaw and this website.

Some children have alternate Home Learning Schedules to meet their particular learning needs and these will be sent directly to those families who received them.

Week 7 Home Learning Packs

Collect your child/ren's Home Learning Pack at the Rowan Street office entry gate on Friday 27 August - 8:30 am to 10:00 am and 2:00pm to 4:00 pm. 

• Packs are for Kinder, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, and Year 6
• No packs for Year 4 and Year 5

Please drive up and staff will deliver to your car by staff wearing gloves and masks. 

OR 

You may also opt to collect early on Monday if needed by phoning or emailing the school office.

Look out for the Week 7 School Assembly

We are really excited about this week's online school assembly on Friday. The link to the school assembly will be located on Seesaw or on the SJB Home Learning website. 

Please join us and watch with your children at a time that is convenient for your family.

Book Club Issue 5 is now CLOSED!

Book Club Issue 5 is now closed.

We are unsure of the effects the current lockdown will have on order deliveries, however, were are hopeful books will be delivered by either the week beginning Monday 16 or 23 August.
