03V - AROUND THE TRAPS

Literacy
We have finished our information report writing and are now in the middle of collating these into a class book. Students are spending time publishing their work by using Google Slides to design their information report page. Students are well into their literature circle books now and are engaged in the discussions we are having each week around the chapters we have read. We are looking forward to reading the next chapter every week!
Maths
After practising our multiplication facts, we are now looking at the connection between division and multiplication. This has been great because some students who thought the division was tricky, are realising that using multiplication can help us!
Inquiry
We have spent some time learning about the different climates in the world, where different countries are and how to find the monthly rainfall and temperature of these countries. We will be using our skills to create our own ‘island’ soon!
RE
We have finished our prayer unit by focusing on common prayers students have heard before - ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ and ‘Hail Mary’. We focused on what they mean and the importance of saying these prayers. We also spent some time thinking about the connection between mandala’s and prayer - this was a lovely reflective and mindful task for students.
First Aid
We had a virtual First Aid experience last week! Students were taken through the DRSABCD acronym and how to be a First Responder. We focused mostly on being wary of danger because when being a First Responder, the most important person to keep safe is you first before the patient! Here are Aleaha and Olla demonstrating how to be placed into the recovery position.
Zipline Olympics!
We have loved watching the Olympics in 3V! For a bit of fun, we decided to have our own STEM-based Olympics. Groups were tasked with creating the quickest zip line contraption. Here are the finished products:
