FOUNDATION - AROUND THE TRAPS 

Literacy

This week our shared text is What are Whales to help with our learning of the wh spelling. Students have been loving all the learning from our information texts. We began this week writing our wonderings about whales. Since reading our shared text and watching some videos, students have been able to write facts about whales.

Maths

In maths this week we are continuing our practice of counting. We are starting to represent addition in a practical situation by using a range of concrete materials like little dinosaurs, cars, boats, buses, beads and counters.

Religion (RE)

The foundation has been learning about St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop and will be making a little booklet about her life. At Assembly last week we prayed to Mary MacKillop. Her Feast Day was 8th August.
