Hamilton Eisteddfod Special Event – Dance, Piano and Strings

The Hamilton Eisteddfod’s Special event, Saturday 28, Sunday 29, Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August, will provide an opportunity for Dancers, String and Piano soloists as well as our String Ensembles to perform in a public venue under the eye of respected adjudicators.   The Music Adjudicator is Melbourne based concert pianist Stefan Cassomenos.  Stefan has performed internationally since the age of 10 and performed the premiere of his own composition Piano Concerto No 1: Aegean Odyssey with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16.  He is also Co-Director of The Port Fairy Spring Music Festival with partner and MSO Violinist, Monica Curro.  

The Music Faculty is investigating a forum by which parents and students can experience the performances that our individual student musicians and ensembles have been working towards.  We hope that this will help to keep parents and our broader community connected with the music that continues to inspire and motivate students within the College.  It is with disappointment that the previously postponed and rescheduled Principal’s Music Showcase and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory have now been cancelled. Whilst we are thrilled to be back onsite, the COVID guidelines under which we return prohibit large group singing performances and audience access to the Simons Auditorium.
