Leader of Curriculum News

Hi All,

I hope you are all well, it has been a busy two weeks at Marian. I would like to firstly congratulate all students (especially year 7) on how quickly they have adjusted to online learning. As a college, we have been forced to reorganise our calendar and processes to ensure we can continue to provide for the needs of the community whilst in lockdown.

Year 10 have now completed their Year 11 Subject Selections. I was very impressed with the questions they have asked and how proactive they have been arranging interviews and submitting their forms, both online and via email with their signed hard copy.

The timetabling committee is now in the process of deciding on the courses and staffing for 2022. Students will then be provided with the approved year 11 courses and lines running for next year, by the end of this term.

Year 8 subject selections have now been moved back to next week. Mrs Centofanti and myself will provide information, on Thursday 26th August, on the requirements and processes for selecting the elective courses for year 9 2022.

All year 8 students will be required to attend zoom meetings during periods 2 and 3 on this day. Students will not only receive information on the process and requirements but also individual elective specific information on the courses available.

Year 8 students will also be shown how to select their electives online, however, they must also return a signed copy of their subject selection form.

We will continue to keep you updated on any changes needed in these uncertain times.

Regards

Mr John Seers
