The pandemic has certainly taught us that we can never assume that life will not challenge our security and peace of mind; that at times we must trust in the timeliness of vaccines, of government decisions and of God’s good time! The fears and sufferings of so many across our world and even now in our own local situations is sure proof of that. Each of us then, like everyone across the planet has learned, whether for good or ill, our dependence on one another and on patient trust…

 

“Above all trust in the slow work of God. We are quite naturally impatient in everything to reach the end without delay. We should like to skip the intermediate stages! We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new. And yet it is the law of all progress that it is made by passing through some stages of instability – and that it may take a very long time. And so I think it is with you; your ideas mature gradually, so let them grow, let them shape themselves without undue haste. Don’t try to force them on as though you could be today what time…will make of you tomorrow. Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming within you will be. Dear Parents, Students and Friends

 

We are now in a two-week lockdown until 12.01 am Sunday 29 August. I wish to thank everyone for your cooperation in following the orders of the state government in keeping your children at home and supporting online learning. 

 

I appreciate the immense challenge this presents as you balance your own work from home as well as the learning of your child/ren.

 

Staff have reported that students are doing well with the online learning format and contact will continue with them next week to make sure that they are coping. There is so much being done by staff to ensure lessons are stimulating and well prepared and I thank them for their efforts.

 

NSW Health is requiring the school to minimise mobility within the community as much as possible. I  also know that the Delta strain of COVID impacts on children to a greater degree than the previous COVID strain,  so there is a greater need to be cautious.

 

This message reinforces to you the need to follow the stay at home advice and keep children home. The only children on our school site should be those children whose parents/carers are deemed essential/authorised workers by the NSW Government and where there is no supervision in the household. If you are working from home, your children should also be at home.  Our college will be continuing with remote learning of students until such time as the  NSW restrictions allow the return to face to face learning.
