Principal's Report

Community - stick together & trust.  We're all doing our best!

Remote & Flexible Learning continuation

Today the Premier has announced a continuation of remote & flexible learning at least until the end of term 3, ie Friday 17 September.

Please keep an eye out for school updates, information regarding the ongoing nature of remote & flexible and on-site booking, should you require it.

Whilst this announcement has its challenges, please remain outward looking and seeking the opportunities it may provide.

It is essential we see this through.

We are all doing our best and we need to all continue doing our bit.  Keep up the amazing work you're all doing.

Stay connected and continue supporting each other.

Student Led Conferences

Congratulations to everyone who attended student led conferences yesterday.  Our staff will have provided areas of celebration & achievement, as well as opportunities for growth.  Please continue to support growth and personal best with your child and again, thank you for attending these important meetings.

Remember, your teacher is the best connection you have to your child's safety and happiness at school, and therefore their ability to progress & learn.

New Facilities

Today we take possession of Brady Building, which has been refurbished into a Library and Community Drop-in Centre.

We also get back our Senior Learning Centre for our Year 5/6 students and staff to enjoy. They will be able to enjoy all being back together as a unit, once back on-site learning.

Finally, our new playground to the north of Davey Building is due for completion today along with progress being made on landscaping and the staff car park.

Respect

Unfortunately I am seeing current and former students mistreat our new facilities, both after hours and during weekends.

We have clear signage at the front gate, not allowing skateboards and bikes etc on our site.  In addition, our new oval is currently unavailable to access after hours, with gates locked and the site largely remaining a construction site of Troon.  Please ensure your child/ren aren't heading down to the school outside school hours to access unauthorised areas ie trespassing.

We do have a large number of security cameras on-site I am monitoring movements after hours and sadly, we've already had damage.

Please promote the respect of our school site in the home environment.

Lockdown through the eyes of a student...

This is a child's account of Lockdown and its impact - the student is from a Victorian school ie not a MRK-6 student, but indicative of how our children / students are feeling.

It certainly provides perspective...

Please keep up your important work, as the most important person in their world.

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
