7C – ARTISTS IN THE MAKING

‘Each year since 1945 the CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.’

As a part of 7C’s Visual Art class this term students have been extremely busy over the last few weeks designing and making Book Art ready for the library Book Week display (Term 3: August 21-27). Using the theme of Old World, New Worlds and Other Worlds 7C students used the studio process to create innovative concepts for their book art creations.

Thanks to the ongoing support and generosity from the ladies of the Rochester Salvation Army Thrift Shop students recycled old books incorporating subjects from stone age civilisation to Disney and Pixar characters. Unfortunately, remote learning has interrupted the completion of some of these masterpieces.

Well done and congratulations 7C on your positive and hardworking approach to Book Week.
