From Our Students

MPS FATHER'S DAY

As you may or may not know, Murrumbeena Primary School had a special Father’s Day Whole School Assembly on Friday 3 September.

In that assembly, we brought along our dads, uncles, grandparents and any other special guardians in our lives. There was a special introduction song 'You're my Best Friend' (by Queen), sung by the Grade 6 leaders, then a Dad Joke Compilation that was hilarious!

My personal favourite segment though, overall, had to be the ‘ Father’s Day Padlet'. It showed all of the Murrumbeena dads and showed how special they are to us.

Here are some of the things students said about their dads...

Here is what Ollie from 1F said: "I love my Daddy because he makes yummy dinner, plays hide and seek, soccer and chess with me!".

Now Louise from PS: "I love my daddy because he is always working very hard so we can have a dog; he cooks the best omelette and likes my magic tricks! Daddy enjoys playing the guitar and was learning to play the 'let it go' sing for me. His other favourite thing to do is going camping and going for runs! Have a wonderful father's day.. we love you to infinity!".

Now Miss Dunshea's message: "I love my dad for all the time that he spent outside throwing the ball to me when I thought I was going to be an Australian Netballer. I love my dad for all the times he has fixed my car when I have no clue what's going on. I love my dad for sitting through numerous Melbourne Football games when he really has no interest (although I think he's on the bandwagon now) . Thank you for everything Phil and Happy Father's Day".

Here is a lovely message from Ayaan in 3L: "My dad is special because he is funny and cool and he is the best dad in the world."

Now Miss Perera! "I've always looked up to my Dad (well he is almost 6 feet tall!). My dad is one of those people who is knowledgeable about everything!".

Calvin, from 6C, said: "Watching the sunset on the beach, Steep Point in WA. I love my Dad because we go on Epic road trips, camp in remote places and go Mountain Biking together".

Last but not least, me (Lily) from 5C: "My dad is so kind, nice, amazing and makes me smile. He has always been nice to me and encourages me to do my absolute best!  That's why I love him!!!!!".

Dads are very inspirational, we love all the fathers out there and thank you for supporting us!

Dads lift up our spirits and make us smile. They are supportive and loving.
