TERM 3 DRAWS TO A CLOSE

What a rollercoaster term this one turned out to be.

We started the term with 4 wonderful days at school before going into lockdown, then back to school again for a week before heading into lockdown 6.0. While many found this particular lockdown quite challenging, we soldiered on knowing that we were all in the same boat and our school community was only a phone call (or Webex) away from lending a helping hand or providing support if and when needed.

ASSEMBLY

We look forward to our final online assembly for the term today at 12:30pm. We’ve held online school assemblies every Friday during lockdown and I’m sure you’ll all agree that our school captains, supported by Miss Callanan and Miss Seares, have done an outstanding job. The assemblies are a highlight of my week, as I love seeing the vast range of activities being undertaken at home.

Thank you to all of our families for sending in photos and videos, and to our Student Representative Council members for continuing your meetings to come up with so many engaging ways to connect our community and to keep students motivated.

ENROLMENTS

We are now finalising our prep 2022 enrolments and we have been planning two versions of Prep Orientation: online and face to face. Either way, transition plays an important role in preparing students for school life.

If your child is enrolled to commence in 2022, then you will receive all the information related to the orientation dates, and what is planned for those sessions, over the next couple of weeks.

If you are in another year level and you are not intending to return to Murrumbeena next year, can you please call or email the office as we begin planning our grade structure and staffing for next year.

Please do not leave this until the last minute, as we need to know our student enrolment numbers for class placements and staffing.

PARENT OPINION SURVEY

The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst parents at all state schools.

It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning.

Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent opinion survey closes today, 17 September.

Term 4 resumes on Monday 4 October

Please take care over the holiday break.  I hope the sunshine and the onset of spring enables us to see the beauty in the world and appreciate what we can be grateful for.

Warm regards
