The arrival of spring means the garden is full of produce and the chooks are laying plenty of eggs. Some of our wonderful staff and their children have been helping with the maintenance and harvesting to make sure the produce is not wasted.

Although the students are disappointed at the lack of have face-to-face learning, many Year 3 are showing their love of learning new kitchen skills in the cutest ways. The team have recently posted Tia’s cooking videos on Brookside College’s Facebook and school website.

Miss Breadmore made Nachos using one of the recipes in the link and showed them to her students during their daily Zoom to encourage her class to participate in cooking activities at home.

The last few weeks learning centred on establishing kitchen safety non-negotiable. Check out these Kitchen Rules posters by Liam M and Kathryn W from 3B.

The students enjoyed making Muffins of the Imagination where they can choose their favourite fruit as the main flavour. They looked delicious and here is the recipe link:
