BSC CELEBRATING MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

As we approach the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is celebrated across many Asian countries and Asian communities in Australia, the BSC student International team will organize many events in the last week of term 3. The activities we are going to run will aim to give BSC students a glimpse of this festival which with its long history and many traditions holds a special place in many cultures of our BSC international students and staff.

A brief introduction about the festival. Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is celebrated on the 15th August in the traditional lunar calendar (which will be 1st October this year). Its meaning varies across cultures, but one guarantee is the deeply rooted traditions with many amazing foods. Please look out for the Student Newsletter as we introduce you to this festival.

The virtual activities we are running will be a fantastic opportunity for all students to relax after working hard for ten weeks of term 3 with the burden of lockdown measures. It is also a fun way to explore new different cultures around the world and enrich our own knowledge. If you want to challenge yourself with some theme-related question, join our Kahoot quiz ( details will be emailed to students) or decorate your very own lantern. All of which would be held in the last week of term. And if you’re not into competitions, watch the video of your fellow international students talking about the meaning of this festival and follow our tutorial on how to make a traditional food.

Keep an eye on Compass and your email as we give out further details. We look forward to seeing you all enjoying the festival and involve in our exciting activities.
