Scienceworks!

The Year 6 students had a wonderful opportunity to wrap up their Chemistry unit by attending a special virtual learning excursion through Scienceworks in the last few weeks of Term 3. 

The students were fully engaged by the Scienceworks’ presenters who showed them what liquid nitrogen can do to a balloon, a rubber ducky and a nail made of blu tak in the Cool stuff live show. The online forum enabled us to observe the properties of this amazing gas close-up and also in slow motion!  The students were also introduced to super conductors and given a greater appreciation of the range of temperatures that we experience on Earth. 

A cool experience for all!
