Book Week Parade - Monday 19th October

We are so excited to be able to still enjoy our Book Week dress up day. Next Monday, 19th October, students and staff are asked to come dressed as a book, movie or comic character or a favourite sports star.

We will have a red carpet parade outside between the church and the school buildings. We are asking students to stroll the red carpet on their way into school and have their picture taken.

Teachers will check in to make sure all students in costume get their picture taken. These will be put together into a movie for families to enjoy.

Book Week Awards

This year, Children’s Book Week has been moved to 17-23 October. The judges will announce the winner of the Children’s Book of the Year Awards today at 12 noon. Students have been voting this week on which book they think should win.

One Runaway Rabbit seems to be our runaway winner at the moment in the Early Childhood category, with My Friend Fred catching up fast. In the Picture Book category students are voting heavily for Hello Lighthouse, with Three and I Need a Parrot close behind.

Scholastic Book Club Issue 7

The catalogues for Issue 7 went home last week with students. The date to get orders in was set for next Friday, but as this is a public holiday we would really appreciate orders to be in by the end of Thursday 22nd October. Orders can be done via LOOP at Scholastic Book Club website or with the order sent in to school and handed in at the College Office.
