HAPE News

The HAPE Department includes all Physical Education, Health, Sport Education and Outdoor Education subjects.

HAPE staff pride ourselves on providing a wide range of activities and experiences to extend the learning of our students. On occasions this involves taking students off site to community facilities, community presentations and camps. Students enjoy and gain excellent experience and knowledge from participating in these activities. As you would expect, these activities come at a cost and because the activities are offered to extend learning, it is expected that the cost is covered by the individuals that attend the activity. We are grateful to the many families who keep their accounts up to date. Unfortunately, there is a large debt growing from unpaid accounts – this debt is currently being carried by the HAPE budget. Carrying this debt reduces our ability to purchase new equipment and take students off site to community facilities.

We would greatly appreciate all families checking their school accounts and where possible, paying outstanding HAPE monies. This will allow us to continue to offer the excellent experiences that we currently do. Various payment options can be discussed with the General Office.

There is also a large number of families who have not paid for the Junior PE Theory Workbook. This is listed as a booklist item and can be paid for at the General Office. All students received this book when they were in Year 7 & 8.

Thanking you in anticipation of your support.                                                           Faith Scholten
