TRANSITION TO A SAFE CLIMATE: CREATING A NEW STORY FOR BANYULE - CONFERENCE
4th & 5th May, 2018
Dear Collingwood College families living or working in Banyule,
We all know how important our community groups, schools and other organisations are in making a difference to the vibrance and liveability of our local area.
Here is an opportunity for you to participate in a joint community initiative to do something together to improve our environment.
We invite interested members of the Collingwood College school community to be part of the Transition to a Safe Climate: creating a new story for Banyule conference at Macleod College on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 May 2018.
This event will bring together a diverse group of residents representing all of Banyule’s suburbs and its varied residents and community groups.
It is being organised by the local network of Transition groups – Transition Banyule, Transition 3081, Transition Warringal, Sustainable Macleod, Sustainable Greensborough, and Montmorency Community Group.
The conference is supported by both Macleod College and a Banyule City Council Environmental Sustainability Grant, auspiced by Olympic Adult Education.
‘Transition’ is a movement of communities coming together to re-imagine and rebuild our world. It is about local people coming together to address the big challenges we face. We hope members of the school community will be able to join in the conversations about the concrete action in response to climate change that we might take across our suburbs.
Bookings are essential: http://www.trybooking.com/TYIN

COLLINGWOOD TOY LIBRARY
The Collingwood toy library is a community-owned resource for families in the City of Yarra and surrounding areas, operated on a non-profit basis and managed by a committee of volunteer members who are elected annually.
We are getting in touch with local schools in the area to promote our activities and resources for school-age children.
We have recently added a large collection of board games for school-aged children and more games in foreign languages including Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Vietnamese. We also have a board games club and holiday activities, as well as other family-friendly community events throughout the year.
