Try a Trade

On Thursday the 12 of September, the Applied English students went on an excursion to the AGA “Try a Trade” Open Day.

This gave us all an opportunity to explore the different trades on offer at AGA Training in Deer Park.

As a student that is going to VCAL very soon, this was an amazing experience to be a part of. We went to experience various types of workshops and got to know what it’s like to work “hands-on “in industries such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical and automotive just to name a few.

We got to experience each workshop as well as learn how long apprenticeship take to complete and the experiences that we would gain. There were many more activities that we participated in on this excursion, such as handball shots with Triple M and learning about tools with Bunnings.

This opportunity was great fun and I can’t wait to start my VCAL program.
