What have we been up to?

Colour Run

Due to some technical issues with our camera we didn't have the fun shots from last years event. All is  good now, so please find below a gallery of photos from the event. We would like to acknowledge the work of the SRC  and  thank the Mt Alexander Shire Council for their Quick Response Youth Grant which made it possible.

VCE Excursion – ‘The Curious incident of the dog in the night time”

VCE Theatre Studies and some year 10 Drama  students had the fantastic opportunity to attend this wonderful production as part of their VCE course. The play is an adaption of the celebrated novel, a touring production, with full English cast and crew and involves state of the art stagecraft and production values.

As part of the First Call funding programme, I was able to attain full funding for our students, meaning that students were received full subsidy, covering  all admission and travel costs, saving us as a school and department over $2, 000.

We had a fabulous evening, viewing this enriching and entertaining piece of World-class theatre.

We are grateful to Arts Centre Melbourne for the opportunity to see a play of this standard as part of our course, a valuable and unforgettable experience.

Top Artist

Congratulations to Isadora Anderson on her 2017 VCE efforts!

Not only was Isadora amongst the top four ATAR scores at Castlemaine Secondary College, but her artworks and folio will be exhibited amongst the top 50 VCE Artists for the state of Victoria.

Top Arts is a highly competitive state-wide competition that selects works from students who achieve A or A+ folios, (for exhibition), with the folios available for this year’s VCE students to peruse.

This year, Top Arts (the exhibition) runs at the National Gallery of Victoria (Federation Square) from Friday March 23 to Sunday July 15.
