Principal's Report

Principal's Report

I am proud to be the Principal of Staughton College. Our Staughton Family, as I often refer to our school community, is both diverse and close-knit.  We support each other to accomplish remarkable things in many varied areas.

Recently, at year level assemblies, I challenged all of us to demonstrate this by our actions. Over the last few weeks our community has risen to this challenge by:

  • Showing high effort in NAPLAN (thanks to Kellie Allen, the NAPLAN team and all Year 7 & 9 students)
  • Running a successful IDAHOBIT Day with a high level of participation of students and teachers (thanks to Maylene Sutherland, Nicki Curry, The Wellbeing Team, and the VCAL students)
  • Winning through to the next round of the year7/8 Soccer (thanks to Elliot Tregonning and the team)
  • Doing us proud at the debating completion at St. Bernards (thanks to Haley Clancy, the debating leaders and teams)
  • Putting on a successful performance of ‘As I Lay Dreaming’ (thanks to Ryan Patterson and the Year 12 Theatre class)
  • Students being awarded a record number of merit tickets in the respect category (well done to all students and staff)
  • Running another successful Athletics Carnival (congratulations again to Danielle Cooke and the  Sports Captains)

This list is just a snapshot of some of the different ways in which we work together to make Staughton a great place for our children to come to school.
