Career journeys of Wanganui students

Over the past 6 months we have been interviewing some former students who have unusual, informative career journeys. We have been gathering these onto the college careers website -www.wanganuiparkcareers.com.

It doesn’t matter what your interests or aspirations there are great lessons that can be taken from others.  Stay tuned for further additions.

  • Jonathon Sumner - Visual Effects Artist. Who would have guessed that a boy from Shepparton could turn his media interests into a career working on blockbuster Hollywood movies? http://bit.ly/2EWi1Jx
  • Nicole Boyington - Registered Nurse. Nicole attended Wanganui Park Secondary College from 2007 till 2012. She didn't achieve the results she was hoping for but still realised her goal of becoming a nurse. Pathways into careers are real, Nicole's story shows us just what can be achieved. http://bit.ly/2sqBcss
  • Jacob Thomas - Activist and Advocate. After leaving Wanganui and moving to Melbourne in 2008 to study at Monash University, Jacob completed a B.A in 2014, graduating with a double major in Sociology and Gender Studies. More recently, Jacob’s energies have focused in the Australian not-for profit space, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention in the LGBTQIA+ community.
