Principal's Report

School Council
School Council will meet on Monday 27th March for the Annual General Meeting followed by the first meeting of the new Council. Congratulations to new councillors Kristie Jackson, Derek Maley and Sharon Walker. I’d like to take this opportunity to thanks outgoing councillors Shane Rowan and Katherine Rusch for all their work over the past 2 years. We really appreciate all your ideas and support over this time.
Twilight Sports
Don’t forget we are holding our Twilight Sports next Tuesday 28th March. Family picnic 5 to 6pm (P.A. will be selling sausages and drinks at this time) Sports events running from 6 to 7pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy some fun activities and spending time together as a community. Thank you to Ben Harris for organizing the activities and the PA for the sausage sizzle.
Late Arrivals and Early Exits
I’d like to remind all parents to sign students in or out on the iPad at the front office. Students must be signed in when they are arriving late and signed out when leaving school early regardless of the time or if you have notified us using the App or sent a note.
Mrs Jennings
Mrs Jennings was delighted with the ‘Get Well’ booklet made by the students.
This is her reply:
To all my beautiful students at Boronia Heights,
I have just received the stunning "get well " book from all of you and have enjoyed reading all of your thoughtful, kind and funny messages.
I would like to say a very big thank you to Bianca and Brock for helping me when I slipped on the outside steps and broke my leg, your kind words and just waiting with me on the steps until the ambulance arrived was very sweet. I am wearing a very big, heavy brace all the way up my left leg that is holding my leg very straight so my bone will heal nice and straight. My doctor is looking after me very well and knows that I am wanting to get back to school as quickly as I possibly can so I am trying really hard to do all of the right things. Your lovely messages have cheered me up and I feel very special that you have all drawn wonderful pictures and written kind words of encouragement to me.
Next week is your last week of school so enjoy and make sure you all end Term one with the best results possible. I will be thinking of you all at the Twilight Sports next week and wish you a fun filled night. Good luck to all the preps with their Letter Land concert and of course our Happy Hour concert next Friday.
Enjoy your holidays and I look forward to seeing you back at school in early Term two.
Mrs. Jennings
Ride to School Day
Ride to School Day was a huge success. It was great to see some many students following a healthy lifestyle and choosing to ride to school. Well done to all the parents who helped decorate the bikes. Thank you to Mr Harris for organising our bike storage area for the day and to the teachers for guiding the students around the obstacle courses.
Parents Association.
Our Parents Association held their AGM on Monday night. Thankyou to all the parents who attended and the new office bearers elected. I can’t let this opportunity go by without thanking the PA for their amazing fundraising efforts in 2016. This money supplements programs and equipment needed for the students. At this stage this year’s priorities have not been identified but will be as soon we identify requirements for the newly refurbished classrooms.
Holiday message
I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter Holiday and look forward to everyone’s safe return for the start of term 2 on Tuesday April 18.
Last Day Arrangements
I’d like to remind you once more that school finishes on Friday at 2:30pm. OSHC operates from this time.
The School Happy Hour Concert 11:30 am- 1:00pm will be on the front court – weather permitting, if not the concert will take place in the hall. We look forward to the Preps ‘Letterland’ performance
