National Assessment Program, Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)
The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) has provided the message below for all schools to communicate to their communities regarding difficulties across Australia with online NAPLAN testing.
Dear Parents/Carers,
As you are aware, NAPLAN testing has now begun, which our school is doing online. Unfortunately, some connectivity issues were experienced during the test and these issues are currently being investigated.
While this isn’t ideal, please be assured we have procedures to follow to minimise any impacts on our students, including rescheduling the test if required.
National test authorities have advised they regret any inconvenience this has caused to schools and students, and are working to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Here at Grange we have invested in providing strong technology infrastructure and internet speed and these difficulties are not school based or in our control as a school. You will remember the recent National online census where something similar happened.
Our students and teachers in Years 5 and 7 that were challenged with the test connection dropping out on Tuesday 14th May, displayed resilience and persistence, admirable skills and ones I congratulate them on. We all face challenges and blocks when things may not go as expected and it is our response to these that develops strong character traits in managing change and challenges, so important in the rapidly changing world of today.
Here at Grange our vision of “Learning today for tomorrow” is something that forms the fundamental foundation of all we do in best supporting your child in their learning, engagement and wellbeing. All NAPLAN online testing after Tuesday 14th May have had no issues and proceeded without any connectivity issues.
