NAIDOC WEEK 2021

NAIDOC Week competitions 

NAIDOC week is coming up in the holidays and the students at OGPS have had the opportunity to be involved in two different competitions over the past few weeks. Our Learning Leaders and Art Captains had a big job on Friday choosing the cohort winners for the 2021 NAIDOC Week school Initiatives and the Gateway Plaza Leopold NAIDOC illustration competition entries. Thank you to all the kids who have brought out their creative sides and produced some quality pieces.  

2021 NAIDOC Week School Initiatives 

The following students have had their entries sent off to Koori Kids for further adjudicating by a panel including delegates from Koori Kids, community Elders and some council delegates. It is anticipated that the judging will take place on 29th June. Some entries will be displayed during NAIDOC Week in some council chambers, libraries and a selection of winning entries will be displayed at Parliament House. Cohort winners will be announced at assembly on Friday.

Gateway Plaza Leopold NAIDOC Week Illustration Competition 

The following students have had their illustrations chosen to be displayed at Gateway Plaza Leopold during NAIDOC Week from the 6-18 July to be voted on by the public. Make sure you get in there to place your vote!! The winning illustrations for each page will be published in the children’s book ‘Dancing For Country’ by Indigenous author Maree Yoelu. Winners are to be announced to the school on Thursday 22 July.
