NUDE FOOD

OGPS are excited to be relaunching Nude Foods back into the School community this coming term.

We have been so inspired by the students and their eagerness to take on this challenge and can't wait to take this step to further educate the staff and children on how to better manage our waste at school. We hope that this will encourage the children and families to evaluate how and what everyday items they use moving forward, and what changes they can make to become more 'green'.

If you didn't already know, there has been a 'Nude Food Tracker' in each of the classrooms this year, as well as a Nude Food Certificate for our Nude Food Champions. So make sure you remind your kids to tick off their names daily so they can be in the running to be their class champion!

But what does this all mean?? What is NUDE FOOD??

Don't worry, the Sustainability Group here at OGPS are here to answer all your questions. We will be bringing you some explainers over the next few weeks to demystify Nude Food and make you all Nude Food Experts!!

What is Nude Food?

Nude Food is food without excess packaging. It is food that comes to school without disposable packaging such as extra plastic bags, paper bags, wrappings or cling wraps.

We encourage you to package snacks and lunches in durable, reusable containers. They are a great way to bring food and keep it fresh, promote healthy eating, provide long term cost savings and environmental benefits with reduced packing and waste.
